Re: Plant lighting

I too like the effect of the cheap shop lights on my plants. I don't think
I will ever go back to using lighting manufactured by aquarium companies.
Shop lights are amazingly cheap, can span a whole row of small aquariums,
mount almost anywhere, and if desired can be hidden by hoods. They work
wonderfully in the working fishroom, and can readily be used in decor tanks
in the main living areas of the house when hidden by a hood. And the price
is unbeatable.

I have always used simple cool white fluorescent lights in my fish
room. I have a three tier rack of permanent set up tanks all with Java
moss, water sprite and Java Fern plants. This is my permanent set up
section, the plants grow well, and fish do fine.
