Re: Plastic craft canvas
Wright Huntley recently described an ingenious use for needlepoint
canvas as a crevice spawning aid for his lampeyes. I just wanted to say
that I find the stuff ideal for tank covering. It prevents jumpers, allows
maximum gaseous exchange, allows shaded light to enter, and is utterly
customizable in fit. It even allows easy trimming around filters, air
tubes, etc. I find that solid covers invariably and quite rapidly grow
nasty colonies of bacteria and fungi that then drip continually into the
tanks and (I am convinced) spread infection. Cleaning is a snap with the
kitchen sink sprayer.
