Re: Plant lighting

Hey Jim,

I just recently built a tank stand that houses 12 ten gallons and I was out
looking for a way to light the rack. I stopped by Lowes and they seemed to have
the best prices all around. I found a double bulb shop light minus the bulbs for
7.83. The kit included the ballast, starter, and already wired to go....just a
minutes worth of assembly was required. The bulbs I looked into were the 40 watt
48" Sylvania wide spectrum bulbs for plants and aquariums. They were around 4.68
each. For around $36 I set up the top tier and middle tier with enough light for
any plant/fish life. Although some of my killies don't like the light (but they
were the shy type anyway) I heavily plant their tanks to create some shade. I
hope some of this info can help. Good luck.
