Re: Natural habitat of A. bitaeniatum?
From Scheel's Atlas, he mentions that many of the BIV complex fishes are
found in forest streams, I'm assuming like Diapterons. He also says they
are found in sediment laden streams, from the pictures, they look like muddy
irrigation ditches, with lots of vegetation on the banks. According to the
same description, they also have a little movement in the water, never
stagnant.

With mine it's the same,they are always behind the foam filter or under the
Java moss .If I pull off the Java or filter for cleaning they swim like
crazy on the bare bottom or up and down in the thank.However when the lights
off and I look at them with small lamp after few time ,they are beautifull
with their red copper color and the fins all spread.
