Hey, Bill,

I've always just kept a diary where I write down the events that happen
daily,although I don't have some of this info.  One issue is that some of
these factors change daily (Temp, pH, appearance of diseases or breeding
behaviours) while others change weekly or never (diet, plants, species name
(I'll let you decide whether that's in the weekly or never category  ;-)
).  It sounds to me that in addition to the usual  daily record of events I
should also put in a monthly inventory or something for those more slowly
changing things.  The things I don't have in my records are these inventory
things, but I'lll put them in.
