Re: AquaBid
I second Bob's notion below. Since hearing about Aquabid, I have visited
there daily and have bought stuff from good people like David Ramsey, who,
like he mentioned in an earlier post, puts in extra fish just to be on the
safe side. Even better, the fish I bought from David weren't even on
auction! I bid on something and lost, then asked how much the same thing
would cost. If anything, Aquabid, like many have noted here, exposes
killies to the public (both beginners and experienced alike). Sure, you'll
get a few clueless types, and no one wants their fish to die, even after
selling them, but I'd say these cases are less than the number of folks who
are killie types and who know what they want. Additionally, there are a few
guys on there who actually state that there fish come complete w/ care
instructions. Does it get any better than that? Yes, b/c most if not all
the sellers are also receptive to e-mails about their fish as well. I'd
have to say that b/c of these things, Aquabid is well on its way to being
the foundation of a very interactive web community. And if Bob's idea about
special passes that allow instant payment and purchasing of killie stuff
comes through, so much the better. It'll be like a flea market for fish. I
myself look forward to such a place.
