Re: Fish and Egg Listing and pictures

It is possible to put more pictures on the AKA site if people give them to
me. However, I put one caveat on that. They have to be of very good
quality. I don't want to step on toes either, but some of the pictures I
see online are just not excellent.

The good news is that I am working with Tony Terceira to add more of his
pictures to the site and to replace some of the images with scans from his
original slides, which we are sure will improve the quality. I'll let you
know when they are up.

I will make the point that I am fairly confident that the pictures on the
AKA site are accurate in terms of the identity of the fish. That is another
issue I have to deal with. I need to be fairly confident that the person
submitting a picture of a particular fish can accurately identify it.

Finally, a major effort is being made to get the AKA's slide sales program
up and running again, with an infusion of new slides. Our plan is to offer
these through the AKA online store as well as through the BNL. Images will
be available satisfying both the need to see what you are buying and
extending the number of pics on the site. I hope that many of you will take
advantage of the opportunity to buy some of these photos in order to give
talks at local aquarium clubs and so on. All of these things help promote
the hobby and the AKA.
