I agree with you on the changes suggested in the award ceremonies. First
place winners could have a name of a person you want honored attached to it
giving at least 8 to 9 people a tribute.
The awards dinner was meant to be good. The hotel that each group uses for
its convention usually puts out a good meal, although not the cheapest in
town. They have to make some profit for the display rooms, hospitality rooms,
water, lights, etc. that they provide the convention. It is also a time of
networking, sharing stories, having a good laugh and having a drink if you
wish with your old and new friends. The people who raise and send class
winning fish should be then recognized for their time, money and ability they
have used to make our hobby better. Maybe we can all get together for next
years convention! Piscatory Pleasure in the Poconos!
