This brings to mind the "Major and Minor" fish and wildlife activity periods
that peak twice a day. It is my understanding that these tables, which are
published daily in the paper and are part of our local evening weather
report, are based upon several variables, including the phase of the moon. I
have personally observed heightened wildlife activity, mostly birds and deer,
during these "peak" periods. At certain times of the month the highs are not
as high as other times. Many fishermen swear by these solunar tables.
What's that all about and is there any correlation with the activity of our
aquarium fish? I've never tried to make such observations, yet.
