Re: Picking Eggs
Any well stocked office supply store should have a fluorescent lighted
magnifier in stock. Staples Fall 1999 catalog shows one on page 166 for
49.99, If you shop around it may be somewhat cheaper.

Could you tell where she purchased the magnifier and approximately how much
it cost?

Subject: Picking Eggs
This may be something that everyone uses and I just missed. My wife gave me
a 'fluorescent magnifier task light' for Father's Day. It mounts with a
c-clamp to a table, has two positioning arms and a 6" magnifier with a light
wrapped around the magnifier. I was picking eggs last night, picked all the
eggs off a mop, and then set up the light. Using the light I picked 23 more
eggs. With the focused light and the magnification the eggs were BIG and
easy to see. And I thought I had already picked all the eggs.
The light also worked over the tank to see and syphon out the fry that
hatched from getting the 2 gallon tank all stirred up.
If your eyesight is aging as mine is, one of these magnifier lights is a
wonderful thing.
