Re: Gardneri Breeding

Hi Sal--

KI>Thanks for the response. Actually today I found about 20 eggs. I am
KI>curious though if anyone has noticed any correlation with
KI>diet/lighting/water chem. and breeding rate in gardneri. I am trying to
KI>take notes in an attempt to find a pattern.

The more live food the better. Mine also seem to be less prolific when
the temperatures get into the 80's (no air conditioning in the house,
I'm afraid). They also seem to spawn better after a large water change.

KI>The eggs I do have look like they are developing internally, but there is a
KI>bit of fuzzy matter attched to the outside. Acri-flavine has been added to
KI>the water...enough to give it a green tint.

I lost a lot of eggs because I had them in too much light (I think).
Once I moved them to very dim light the eggs didn't fungus and developed
well, with nice healthy fry.

Just my limited observations. Hope it helps.
