Need for volunteers
The answer to all of the species maintenance questions and everything even
remotely similar to seems to fall into 2 categories:
1 - volunteers with whatever (money, time, tank space, skill level, etc) to
actually accomplish something.
2 - THE PLAN. Got to have a plan.
That there is a large group of people who I think would like to do more is
obvious.
That there is a small group buried in trying to do it without enough help is
also obvious.
Since variations of this discussion have probably been going on
forever......
Here is my killie resume, AKA - here is a volunteer!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am in my second year of AKA and killies (30+++ with fish), learning
everything I can about all of it. So I definitely do not have much to offer
with making the plan.
But I do have the desire to do something. Just do not ever see a specific
list that says 'we need a volunteer to do such and such' that I can see if I
have the whatever to do it. I currently have 60 tanks, 18 species. My main
interest is in the Fp's and australes.
The Blue Gularis and the different gardneri reproduce to the point I am
considering getting an Oscar or two. I would be happy to take a rare and
endangered Fp and have a good try at reproducing them. I don't care who owns
the fry they produce. The next nickel of profit I make on killies will
definitely be the first one, and probably stay a lonely one, so the money is
not important.
My australes breed like crazy with lots of good strong fry. No they are not
chocolates, they are the orange ones, but if I squint real hard and the
light is bad.....
I make my living writing database intensive computer programs. Any help
needed there?
I wish that all the videos the AKA has had a review of what they are about,
what they contain, what skill level of hobbyist they are aimed at. I would
be happy to get a box of 20 videos and I will happily donate a review of
each one. I'll pay the freight to send them back and you can send 20 more,
or whatever. They would certainly sell better if it was easy to know what
was on them.
Enough space taken up with me - how about everyone else? I think the time
for action is now
No this is not my soapbox, it is an empty can of brine shrimp eggs.
