thin nothos
hi all
I'm going to take a chance and posta serious fish question.
My N. kafuensis females are looking real thin. Thy are about 6
months old.
I had some big female guppies with them in a 30 cm tank. The thin
females disn't seem to eat.
This weekend I took the gubbies out an poped in 100 mg
metranozidole (spelling!) tab into the tank of roughly 17 l. I
suspected a protozoan gut infection. I also took out the peat
suspecting it may absorb the meds.
Now the fish are eating greedily and I expect them to put on weight
quickly.
Were they not eating because of an infection or because of the
guppies?
Any ideas? I've had this hollow belly probelm before with my nothos
with dire consequences.
Regards
Tyrone
