I keep mine in my very hard well water of 480 ppm and ph of 7.8 and no
problems.
I have not collected eggs for a number of years as always is enough surviors
of the fry in my well planted tank. This is the first killie I bought and
have maintained it for about 15 years now. I think most water would work with
them
