Depending on the species, Nothos will show color at different ages.  For me, the first male RACS will color out at 3 weeks but the last may not color out until 3 months!!.  Here is a neat tip from one of the Notho gods, Karl D..   Karl suggests looking at the anal fin of the adults.  Do you see a difference is shape?  One is rounded or oblong.  The other is diamond shaped.  Now use that methodology and you should be able to sex them at their current age before they show color.  Al A. of Indy suggests a strobe light, although I have never tried it.  Best Wishes...bob

Hi everyone
I was wondering, how big do notho fry get before they show color? I have my first batch of rachovii fry, they are about 3/8 inch long right now. I hatched them on April 14th. Any info would be appreciated.
