A lineatus vs. A. dayi
I also got some of the "golden killies" from a local fish shop. I'm
fairly sure the ones I got are A. lineatus. However, recently the
shop added a second batch, which are in bad shape, clamped fins and
odd swinmming motions to the same tank as the lineatus, so I'm not
planning to buy any for a while. One fish, apparently female has a
thick dark, almost solid black line, others have thick lines
instead of the thin lines seen in lineatus. The drawings in
Wildekamps' suggest this is A. Dayi, the question is: How could I
determine the difference between males of each species? All these
seem to be juveniles.
