Mystery Epiplatys
Hello, I just bought 5 of what I'm pretty sure are an Epiplatys species from
Petsmart. Only thing is, I don't know which one they are. They were billed
as "Golden Wonder Killifish" and I'm pretty sure they're Epilplatys b/c of
the set back dorsal fin and the underslung mouth, plus, they look like
Epiplatys fasciolatus, except for their coloration. Hell, I don't even know
if I've got a couple of females in there, I only suspect so b/c of their
slightly more drab coloration. Anyway, their fins are mainly yellow, but a
translucent yellow, and their bodies give off yellow, greens and
turqoise/shimmery blue. They've got black lips, and are about an inch and a
half long right now. I've got them in pH 7.0, medium hardness and they're
just fine. They're in a fifteen gallong and feed readily. So, my question
is: What do I have? I looked at the Epiplatys gallery, and while I thought
that I had E. fasciolatus, I am apparently wrong looking at the AKA's pic of
it. Thanks in advance!
