in windows 98 to disable file and printer sharing on your computer

 open the Network dialog  box by clicking Start, pointing to Settings,
clicking Control Panel, and then double-clicking Network.

Click File and Print Sharing block.
Click to clear the check box for the sharing options you want to remove, and
then click OK.
