I also obtained some of the long-finned white clouds.  I bought two pairs
and lost one female to an unknown cause.  I have not had any trouble with my
remaining 3.  I keep them in an unheated tank in a room that is about 64-66
degrees in water that is probably 90% RO, so is very soft, pH about 6.6.  I
feed them frozen brine shrimp, live blackworms and various flake foods.
They have always eaten fine.  Don't know about your disease though, so can
only advise on what's working for me.
