Ross ended up getting some fairy shrimp while collecting live daphnia 
years ago.  They lived for a while, but he didn't pay any attention 
to them and fed them whenever they were slow enough to be caught.  He 
has seen cultures available from Carolina Biological supply.

So, yes, someone has kept some but has no direct knowledge of raising them.
