I use a couple sections of sump pump flexible drain to run the siphoned water
to either the floor drain in the winter or the door in the summer. To avoid
fish being siphoned, I use what's called a "bubbler", which is a garden hose
diffuser (yellow plastic, made by Nelson, I think) attached to the tank end
of the hose, when I'm not doing gravel. I use the same diffuser on the end of
the garden hose that goes from my aged water sump. I use a Sears electric
pump (~$80.00) to pump the aged water which I store in a 55 gallon clear
plastic tub (Sam's Club) that has an old power head for circulation and a 200
watt heater to bring the temp up to 74F. My tanks are in the basement,
obviously.
Now, let's see where this goes....this started with comments about Palm
Pilots (PDAs) if my memory serves me well........
