Re: Fish out of Water (AUS)

Title: Fish out of Water (AUS)
I had a female betta in a rectangular plastic tank for awhile. Everyday, I would find her wedged in the corner above the water line. I know they can breathe air directly, but seemed a bit extreme, so I moved her to a round bowl (and told her to stand in  the corner). Eventually I put her in a regular tank and she demonstrated her jumping prowess by jumping into the next tank, then, the next day, onto the floor (her ability to breathe air was of limited use there). I figured it was for the best, since it would not be good to breed her as the stupidity could be hereditary.

Subject: Fish out of Water (AUS)

Hi

I just saw the strangest thing in my life yesterday. I have
10 Gal tank with some AUS fry in. They have just started
to color up. The tank has some java moss in and some
floating water lettuce. The floating water lettuce leaves was
one of my males favorite hang out ,but yesterday after my
water change I saw him jumping out of the water on the
leaves of the water lettuce. He will stay on the leave till I
touch the top glass and he'll jump back into the water. I
once left him for an hour before chasing him back into the
water. All the other fry are fine.

Has any body seen this before and what might be wrong ?
(water quality/disease)

Thanks Rudolph
