Help/advice in Re-introducing 2 pairs back together

Good evening all- I'm looking for any help/advice from the experienced
killie crowd!

I had 2 pair of beautiful Fp. gardneri misaje (care of Bill Shenefelt)
together in a 5.5-gal tank. A month or so ago, I separated one pair into a
2.5-gal tank with bottom mops for breeding. Since I know have around 20 fry
to raise, I wanted the small tank empty, so I moved the "breeding" pair back
into the 5.5-gal tank with the original pair.

THEY DON'T SEEM TO BE GETTING ALONG VERY WELL!!! The original male seems to
be "dominating" the tank and driving both male & female newcomers into hiding
(I found them both driven to behind the sponge filter).

Any advice on how I re-establish harmony between the 2 pair to create one big
happy family?????
