Hatching eggs

Hi all.  I am relatively inexperienced and have a question I would like to 
pose.  About 5 week ago I collected about a dozen well developed, I thought, 
Aphy. pyrophore (ogoense) eggs from a mop and removed them to a small bowl 
with the tank water they were in.  I added a sprig of Java moss.  As of this 
time, the eggs still look ok, but no hatching.  I have drenched them a couple 
of times with fresh rainwater with no results.  The temp. is about 68-70.  
Too cool?  Anybody have any ideas as to how to induce hatching, or am I just 
being impatient.  I am reluctant to start experimenting for fear of killing 
them.  Hope somebody that has been down this road before will be able to give 
me some advice.
