Agree with Lee.  I also use water softener salt for my bbs and conditioning
of my water.    Find it very beneficial for my nothos.  Using about two
large pellets per gallon.  Have not had any problems and the price is
approximately $11.00 Canadian for 40 lbs. of non-treated salt pellets.
Surprised that a lot of other people are not using it.
