We tried to do this in one of our recent original description or
re-description (I forget which it was) papers and the journal editor
requested that we remove the reference to location codes as used by
hobbyists. The reference numbers for the specimens as lodged in a museum
collection are what they regard as most important. I happen to feel that
location codes should be included as well but can also see the point that in
an original description these are, from a scientific point of view, largely
irrelevant.
