I think so. Brian Watters has caught the males in spawning colors (his slide
was pretty spectacular), so check the aka pages and Richard's collection  at
killi.net to see if one is there.

The colors were captured, but your brain says they must be photographic
artifacts. That combination of irridescent lavender and blue, yellow-green
and brilliant irridescent blue-white don't look at all like "fish" colors.
The pic on p 451 of V3 of Baensch is what they look like by late afternoon,
when the show is over -- just another shiny lampeye.
