I am not sure what you were implying about the Tippecanoe Darter being a common name. It is just that, the Tippecanoe Darter (Etheostoma tippecanoe). And I never implied that the Mudminnow could not be found in anything other than stagnant waters, I was in fact stating the case that it is a very hardy fish that can tolerate very harsh conditions.
