River Rally 2002 ~ May 17-21
Holiday Inn SunSpree Resort
Asheville, North Carolina

Dear River or Watershed enthusiast,

Thank you for considering to join us for River Rally 2002! You may not
have
realized that the Registration Deadline is only a few days away!

Regular registration closes Wednesday, March 27, 2002. You can still
register after March 27th, but a $50 late fee for will apply.

Scholarship applications are also due March 27th. In order to be
considered
for rally scholarships you must register by March 27th!

The Rally is geared to both new organizations and those which have been
in
existence for a number of years. The Rally provides an invaluable
opportunity for directors, staff, board members and volunteers - anyone
committed to understanding, protecting and restoring watersheds - to:

* Learn the basics of river and watershed protection, or explore new
policy
initiatives, cutting-edge techniques and in-depth case studies
* Find out how to start a new organization, build excellence in an
established group, foster a healthy working environment, communicate with
the public, and raise funds
* Meet colleagues who have common interests and enlightening experiences
to
share
* Talk with funders about the current funding climate and how to find
support for your organization or project
* Inspire new staff, board members and volunteers and bring them up to
speed
on river and watershed issues
* Renew and reinvigorate yourself for the work ahead.

The River Rally is the only national conference for all those working to
understand, restore, and protect rivers. Staff, volunteers and board
members, experienced and inexperienced, will benefit from workshops in
leadership development, organizational development, watershed science,
self-care and much more.

Asheville, North Carolina offers many wonderful activities, with over 30
art
galleries and rafting on the nearby French Broad, Pigeon and Nantahala
Rivers.
