Re: NFC: Re: Re: Re: Planaria

Yeah, Josh. Head way is happening though...And the observations, information
I've gotten in return warrants more info gathering for me. In truth, the
point made earlier about planaria movement onto the glass of a tank (showing
themselves) and then hiding in the substrate due to predation or other
behavior is probable given their "learning" abilities. But predation I
would think would be the reason they run too. Why run if nothing is
bothering them? When I do my larval test with C.leedsi, and P.promelas,
I'll post what happens, it's easy enough to move 100 larvae into a tub and
dump some planaria in there with them... no substrate to hide in. But, if
they are not eaten, I'll know at least the P.promelas and C.leedsi don't
like them :)
... I appreciate the dialog, so anyone else wants to chime in... a planaria
(flat worm) can be noticeably large, or can be as small as microscopic. But
Walter Pennak says, they are generally less than 5 MM long (I think that was
it.) As I said, mine are >3 mm, and I would say they are white, although I
do see a spotted one here and there. They look like little worms with a
noticeable triangular head.
