A national treasure is one appropriations bill away from being
altered forever (House mark-up expected tomorrow night, Tuesday 6-19-
01, so get your messages in now)! Additonally, this "demonstration
project" would set a bad precedent for the Army Corps of Engineers by
expanding their mission.

The White River, a tributary of the Mississippi River in Arkansas, is
a state, national and international treasure. However, an Army
Corps' water diversion project threatens to permanently compromise
the ecological functions of the White River's water-driven
ecosystem.
Please tell the Chairman and Ranking Member of the House
Appropriations' Subcommittee on Energy and Water Development and
Representative Marion Berry (D-AR) that you do NOT want this project
funded.
