Re: [Killietalk] sex
Hi fellow speculators, Based on a long history of raising the very easy
Nematolebias whitei I had formed the opinion that over the entire
breeding period of any one pair of whitei the young as a total sexed out
50/50. Lets say the total results of 6 or 7 collections at one month
periods. My latest observation ( newest opinion) is that the collections
( harvests of peat and eggs) taken during the hotter months( hotter water
spawning) results in more females and the spawns during cooler water
months results in more males. This also seemed to be the case for Pt.
phasianus and S. antenori. This is only speculative observation (
hypothesis) and not based on "scientific experiment" but you can see how
the first observation can lead to the second one.
