Re: [Killietalk] Summer convention issues

...took me into adulthood to figure out why women raised by single parents choose men w/big cars & jewelry;
basically w/o a live example present 24/7 it is easier to evalute signs of visible production, than to infer/transpose potential for more intristict values like child rearing skills, generousity, blah blah blah...

...and so it is with the younger/newer folks from gen-x and beyond...they are/were simply not immersed in the same "figure it out" and/or use your imagination world that the majority of us older folk come from...

info & experience are delivered to them at lightspeed...and if the tangible value add of a convention isn't readily apparent, or hits em directly in the face, many of them simply won't have the momenta of interest to shell out and attend...

I've hinted before that the "hook" into this hobby has to come from a different angle, and not just by pouring money into promo's & trinkets and such...I only "percieve" a change is needed... and even someone of my "genius" needs external/additional gray matter to find an answer...<LOL>

seriously tho: it's not as simple as changing the doggone date...(if thats the centriod of the disscusion/debate, then you folks ain't gettin it)
