I'm not presently an AKA member, I am an MKA member, and AKA membership is
in the works for me.   I was exposed to Killies as a child at the Chicago
conventions.  My mothers second husband took us for several years in the mid
80s.  In those days in was a joint killie & beta show.  I remember those
shows well.  Everyone seems to complain about dwindling membership, and
quite frankly the the average person at the Killie Karnival I went to this
last February, had one foot in the grave.  Traditions die if there is noone
to carry them on.    The AKA and affiliate clubs should do everything they
can to include children in all their gatherings.  I for one will attest that
being exposed to fish, and fish clubs as a child has brought me back to it
as an adult.  You have to invest in your future.
