[Killietalk] One AKAer if favor of a different time of year for the convention

>
Thanks Karl,

You hit the nail right on the head with that one. I find that it is pretty
selfish to go to shows around the globe, spending family earned money by
myself.

Some of you are retired and it doesn't matter what time of year you go to
shows, but I have a child in school and will not be able to shoot off to
some distant location, even on a holiday weekend by myself. It is just not
right.

It would be nice to take a week and do some sight seeing in and around the
convention area and then attend the convention and take the newly acquired
fish home,

I have asked many, many times for a summer season AKA show without any
success. Maybe the next club would consider making a landmark decision to
change the date to a non school time of year. If this were held in a nice
touristie spot I bet you would have a better attendance. And an attendance
by families instead of just individuals.

Family time is quality time.
