I always microwave peat before re-using it, but maybe the trouble is in not
zapping it long enough to kill everything.  Tim Addis's product for killing
everything chemically intrigues me and is perhaps more fool proof......which
is a requirement for me.

Has anyone considered putting the used peat in a quart jar with water and  
putting it through the microwave oven to kill off anything harmful to  eggs?
