I missed this one, somehow.

A tds of 10 ppm can be quite sustainable if the volume of water is very 
large (compared to a 5G tank) and/or there is constant flow through. The 
things making pH go squirrelly are much more stable in those 
circumstances. Our Sierra trout lakes would be dead, otherwise. Many 
(Most?) have a tds of well under 50 ppm.

My VCR just blinks "12:00" all the time.  I wonder if it will update
itself to blink "12:00" properly when the time changes.
