Re: [Killietalk] Killietal Information Needed

Thanks for the info, I think. I'll keep looking for stuff for my fish room since it don't look like the hatchery thing is going to work. Is there any other auction sites for fish you can point me at ? Just getting started with these fish after a lot of time with bettas, angels and the like. The fact you can keep them in smaall tanks is pretty nice...

Again thanks Larry, sunny, diego, nick and the guys who mailed off list

Hi Chris;
I don't know anything about the Willamette Fish Hatchery but I
did Google it and came up with a couple of references. It seems that
is one of the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife
hatcheries. Just do a search and you will get both the E-Mail
addresses and phone numbers
of the hatchery or the Oregon F&W itself. It seems strange to me
that a state hatchery would be dealing in Killies but I guess
stranger things have happened. But it might be an employee trying to
earn a few bucks and who is not very inventive.

PS: That is a good looking fish I think I'll get in touch with them
myself. Its always nice to find a new source of fish.

More likely it's someone who doesn't know that the state runs a hatchery by
the same name. Most people don't know all of the state hatcheries here in
WI, I doubt it's any different in other parts of the country.

You should try contacting the West Coast Club. They are always importing Moema
Quiii from Peru. I remember buying some Quiii at their show a year back. You
should ask around people from the club like Barry Cooper or Brian Perkins
himself.

  Best Regards,
  Diego

*BUYER BEWARE* Yesterday after having jumping through some phone
hoops with the Oredon DFW, I talk to a Steve Williams, who is the
Asst. Division Administrator.
It was a lengthy conversation, but in a nutshell, there is no
connection to the DFW. He said he would pass the information on to
their Native Fish Investigative Dept., but it may very well be a
scam of sorts, and would be very leery of any dealings.
He also said their main concern are Trout & Salmon, and emailed
me the Willamette Hatchery Plan, it's only 18 pages but kinda
interesting, and is also online.
SOoo there you go, for whatever it's worth. I'd say until someone
can actually verify this "person" whoever it is, is legit, I'd lean
toward the side of caution.

Sonny
