Re: [Killietalk] Still new and trying Advice on gardneri

Hey Matt, your gardneri are going to think they are in heaven in a planted
10 gallon tank.
How to make a mop? http://www.djramsey.com/tropfish/spawning_mops.htm
That shows one way. Any variation of that will work just fine.
If you adjust the whisper outside filter to not run too fast, it will be
fine for the fish also. With an outside filter I like to put a piece of foam
on the end of the intake tube. The filter stays cleaner, fry do not get
sucked up, and it becomes a great place for the fish to snack. You can buy
one as a prefilter or use a piece of foam, piece of a ladys stocking with a
rubber band to hold it in place, or something similar.
Actually sponge filters can be hard to find sometimes. Another good choice
is a small inside box type filter, just leave the top off.
The TAKO show will have everything you need, and some really nice folks who
will show you how to do any of it.
