Barry,
I perceive a minor education problem here. I, for one, missed any
announcement as to the replacement of the classifieds with the new
functions (the names certainly were no help), and spent a frustrating
few minutes a while back trying to find the classifieds.
Does the new member services area need a little bit of the FAQ put into
the intro page so we know just what to do and where to go? Maybe just a
pointer to the proper FAQ page would be all we need. I'm more than
delighted to list my current fish populations, but wasn't eager to go
through the needed learning curve, I guess, when the process was far
less than obvious to me. [Perhaps that has been fixed, as I have not
been back for a couple of weeks or so.]
This, IMHO, is a vital function, and getting the databases accurate can
be a huge service to us all. What I suspect we need is a few kind words
of guidance from the (already overworked) authors on how to approach our
part of the task. [Nothing much more complicated than
frozen-food-package cooking instructions will work for most of us. :-)]
BTW, thanks Dennis and Barry for all your dedicated service, and I hope
we can make your efforts pay off soon by getting our fish posted. We
have to get the Registry above critical mass and get enough data there
to make it a used resource for it to be very effective. I'm willing to
help. Just didn't know how.
