RE: [Killietalk] grindal worms

Hi,

Those bugs are probably springtails. Some people think it's a bonus for your: two cultures for the same amount of work. Springtails are much quicker at finding the food and will eventually outcompete the worms. Not to mention all the jumping around.

You can flood the culture. Springtails will float. Pour off the water and you will have a somewhat cleaner starter.

I just recieved a grindal worm starter in the mail. The sample has thousands of little bugs (and a few hundred grindal worms). Should I toss the starter and try again or is there no such thing as a grindal worm starter that is just grindal worms?
