Re: Effects of light on fry colour development

Of course red pigmentation fails in a no light situation. Fish need natural
daylight to show their best. Artificial light does deny fish a full
colouration.
OK, try breeding fish over many generations without natural daylight. It
would be an interesting experiment to see which species maintained colour in
an artificially lit environment.
A red/orange colouration can dull without natural daylight or maybe natural
food?
Sure to provoke response from artificially lit breeders.
Which species maintain colour in this situation & which do not?
OK, this is put up as a topic for debate.
