Effects of light on fry colour development

Hi Everyone,
 
Has anyone noticed the difference in colour development of some killie fry when grown in a dark environment versus a bright environment?
 
I raised a group of Fp. rubrolabialis in a very dark tank and another group, same hatch in a very bright tank/.  When I placed them together today, the ones in the bright tank were almost white, the others very dark.
 
Is this typical?
