First, why is it that an attractive and widespread (in nature) killie like Aphyosemion punctatum seems so rare in the hobby? Is it more difficult than its neighbours? Any anecdotes?

Many of the elegans group come from highlands with quite cool, swift brooks, conditions difficult to duplicate in many of our fishrooms (if kept comfortable for people). The implication is that they have a need for lots of oxygen, as a result.

Some folks find they can only breed these species in the winter, when the fishroom is colder. [Those of us in inland CA or FL may not stand much of a chance.]

Certainly, *punctatum*, *aureum*, and *wildekampi* are all considered difficult to breed.

What is the AKA status of sp. aff citrineipinnis, and is there anyone going to the convention who feels burdened by having too many, and who might want to find some a new home in my fishroom?

*Aphyosemion citrineipinnis* GEB 94/2 just took Best in Show at WCW. They should be around. It's another cold-water difficult species, I think.
