Don't under estimate the nutritional value of brine shrimp.  Its best to
feed a varied diet but if they were worthless how do you explain the
thousand plus killies in my fish room?  I would guess that 90% + of my
fishes diet consists on newly hatched bbs.  Most of the time I have too many
fry from a particular species to collect eggs.  If you allow them to age in
the cone the do rapidly loose nutrition but they are packed with fats and
protein.
