calling all callopanchax keepers

Hi Gary,

"Huwaldi" is considered a synonym of occidentalis. I could be wrong but
I did not think occidentalis was found in Guinea. I thought toddi replaced
occidentalis in that area. In the mid 90's, there was a photo in JAKA of an
absolutely gorgeous male toddi collected in Guinea -- Conkary maybe was the
location. It had the richest blue and most intense body markings I have ever
seen on toddi and I have had the original Roloff Barmoi population, the
"huwaldi" blue and the current population -- 2 trios in my tanks right now. I
would check Wildekamp for the huwaldi range. Paul Hoppe did an article on
"Etzel's toddi" for JAKA back in the late 70's -- which was what huwaldi was
called when it first arrived in Germany.
There is also the new Callopanchax sp. Guinea that the Dutch have that is
a toddi like fish. There is a photo on this page
<http://home10.inet.tele.dk/kdinesen/index.html>. It is called the <Roloffia
Homepage" and is an excellent site.
