Re: A. Geryi - Shyness

I have a similar species, A. chaytori (though they are now both
Scriptaphyosemion), and I had the same problem with my original fish. I
assumed it was just their nature until I raised some fry. The young (F1's)
are as friendly and courageous as any gardneri I've had. They are
extremely nice fish in a number of ways, great color, females have nice
markings, easy to raise, don't eat their fry . . .

I attribute the shyness to the fact that the original fish are
wild-caught. Those fish are still shy and never even come out for live
food when I'm around. My advice is to let them hide and work on raising
fry, if they are like mine, they are definately work the initial trouble.
