It's Nuclear Winter Here in Quito

Yesterday morning, volcano El Reventador erupted. Quito is
about 60 miles from the eruption and is covered in ash. I
am covered in ash. Making this a more interesting event
was the pyroclastic flows that were produced by the
eruption. Pyroclastic flows consume everything in their
path and are, in my opinion, one of the most interesting
natural events to watch.

What does this have to do with killi's? The volcano is
very close to Coca where I collected the Riv. erberi and
other stuff last summer and I think it would be interesting
to study the environment now. Unfortunately, I have just
started back teaching and don't have time in my schedule to
go. But maybe sometime in the new year...
