RE: Breeding Nematolebias whitei
Loh K L,
You may not be doing anything wrong!
Some of these eggs are very difficult to see without good magnification and
lots of patients. Just incubate them normally and you will very likely get
some [might be a lot] to hatch out when ready.

Subject: Breeding Nematolebias whitei
Hi, folks,
I've been trying to breed the Nematolebias whitei without any success.
I have a male and 5 females in a 5 gallon tank. I use a small flower
pot as a breeding bowl. I filled the pot with peat moss up to a height
of about 2 inches. The last time I had the pot inside the tank, I saw
the fish going in and out of the pot regularly. Although I couldn't see
the action taking place, there was obviously plenty of it as there were
puffs of peat moss coming out from the mouth of the pot. But when I
collected the peat a few days later, I couldn't find a single egg. The
temperature of the water is about 86 degrees Fahrenheit and the fish are
almost 4 months old. I feed with nothing but live tubifex worms.
Does anyone have any idea what I am doing wrong?
