re: Java Moss

One way to kill Java Moss, use softened water. The high sodium level
appears to be fatal, although it sometimes takes a while. When kept in hard
water, I have few problems maintaining Java Moss. This might appear to
contradict Wright's comments about Java Moss, at least the West Coast
variety that I have, being brackish water in origin, but there is more to
brackish water than the sodium level. A water softener appears to either
remove critical elements or overwhelm the Java Moss with sodium (or some
other element).
